exist
We exist to inspire, encourage and empower young people through a medium they're familiar with- Rap music. We aim to show young people that Rap can be positive while building their confidence and self-esteem through music related activities, whether through writing, music production, music creation, performance and more- essentially we use music to teach.
We help our participants realise that a career in music is attainable. We highlight various roles in the music industry and explore each role in depth to provide insight into suitable career paths for our participants.
Our focus on positive rap lyrics encourages young people to think differently, to aspire to be greater than the unfavourable circumstances many of them find themselves in. Rap Club strives to influence young people by willing them to think about their future, by showing them that there are alternatives to ‘street life’ and that rap and a life in music is one of them.
So many current UK artists have abandoned a life in the streets to focus on music. Rap Club has the power to do the same for so many more. As an organisation, our emphasis is not only on giving young people a project that occupies them for the near future but for the long term. With positive affirmations and assured lyrics we aim to teach them new skills, build their self-esteem and help them to understand that the world is so much vaster than their area/postcode. There are professional recording artists from similar settings that are now enjoying a positive life through rap and there is no reason your pupils can’t experience the same journey.
